GEORGE WASHINGTON STATED

Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples' liberty teeth.

First Inaugural Address of George Washington...April 30, 1789

The preservation of the sacred fire of liberty and the destiny of the republican model of government are justly considered as deeply, perhaps as finally, staked on the experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people.

The Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Abraham Lincoln said:

"In this age, and in this country, public sentiment is everything. With it, nothing can fail; against it nothing can suceed. Whoever molds public sentiment goes deeper than he who enacts statutes, or pronounces judicial decisions."

James Madison Declared

The adversaries of the Constitution seem to have lost sight of the PEOPLE altogether in their reasonings on this subject; and to have viewed these different establishments not only as mutual rivals and enemies, but as uncontrolled by any common superior in their efforts to usurp the authorities of each other. These gentlemen must be reminded of their error. They must be told that the ULTIMATE AUTHORITY, wherever the derivative may be found, RESIDES IN THE PEOPLE ALONE. "Those Voices Don't Speak for the Rest of Us"

Krista Branch "Remember Who We Are" Official Video

In Violation of the IV th Amendment of the US Constitution

It stands alone, obvious to all who have eyes and a brain that daily the US Constitution is being violated at the airports in the United States and I don't hear anyone saying "BEWARE!".

Amendment IV of the Constitution of the United States

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

It stands on it own that the type of intrusive searches on all are a clear and purposeful violation by our government against its own Constitution; you don't have to be a constitutional lawyer to see the obvious. Ask yourself.....why is nothing being done about it. Slowly our rights our being taken away from us....what next Marshall Law over the whole country...beware!

Colorectal surgeon Song...maybe a theme for the Congress?

No COLA increase in Social Security for last two years. They say it was because the cost of living did not go up....of course not because they did not include the cost of energy and food...but did not tell you that. I truly believe the theme song of these politicians that voted against helping out the seniors on a fixed income  should be this song: ENJOY

Case Law System...will destroy this country

When "relativism" is applied to the law it is called "legal positivism." This "positivism" started in the 1870s when  Harvard Law School Dean Christopher C. Langdell tried to compare apples with oranges; He assumed that Darwin's theory, which is still argued over, of biological evolution could be and should be applied to jurisprudence. He, I believe, to a certain degree, believed that since man evolved, that his laws and the Constitution should evolve under the guidance of judges. It was at that time that students of the law would study decisions of judges rather than the Constitution. Since that time history, precedent, and the views and beliefs of the Founders became more and more irrelevant and the Constitution as a hindrance to the advancement of a "progressive" society. Personally I find the analogy of comparing a biological system and a legal system as totally asinine.

I believe that a leading relativist and progressive, John Dewey, in 1927 was as wrong as he could be when he stated:

"The belief in political fixity, of the sanctity of some form of state consecrated by the efforts of our fathers and hallowed by tradition, is one of the stumbling-blocks in the way of orderly and directed change."

As this approach was gradually adopted by this country's law schools the pillars of the foundation of our nation were eroded and the nation started to become a nation of men and not one of law. The only good I see is that this new theory of relativism increases the business of the legal system and their income. If the foundations of the law keep shifting like the sands in the desert then the arguments defending one position versus another are infinite and can change from day to day or case to case. A nation with this kind of foundation is bound to crumble into a mound of dust in time.

Does Pres. Obama want a new Constitution?

When our country was founded and the founding documents written the underlying document and philosophy which our Founders used was the Bible and natural law philosophy. Sometime around the middle of the twentieth century a new competing philosophy, "relativism", began to gain acceptance especially in some of the so-called elite academic centers. It promulgated that standards of behavior and rules and laws were all relative to the society in which an individual lived in. In essence each man creates his own judgments about what is right and wrong, moral relativism.

When this type of moral relativism is applied to the law it is called "legal positivism." This "legal positivism" is characterized by the following points:
  1. There are no God given standards of law and if perchance there might be they are not relevant in a modern legal system.
  2. Since God does not give us law or rights the author must be man (government) and what it gives it can also take away or change in any manner it wishes. The state is therefore the highest human authority.
  3. Since all of the elite know that both man and society evolve, law and its interpretation must also evolve;so no solid framework on which society can be sure that will not change exists and the whim of man or the state is final.
  4. Judges through their decisions on evolutionary law control the system.
  5. The study of judges (men/women) and not original foundations of the legal system becomes the study of law. In other words we go from a country of LAW to a country of MEN/WOMEN.
I content that when this happens and completely encompasses our land it will lead to the devolution of the country and to its eventual demise. Is this the direction in which President Obama is knowingly taking us? You be the judge both by studying his words and actions.

Law of the Conservation of Socio-Economic Security

As we all know, in physics we have the Law of the Conservation of Energy; that meaning that if we have a closed system, such as we believe that the Universe is, the total energy in that system stays the same. It may exist in various forms in different locals but the total amount cannot be added to or subtracted from.

I profess that in the area of socio-economic security another law analogous to the Law of Conservation of Energy exists; this law is the Law of Conservation of Socio-Economic Security. The first law mentioned can be proven mathematically and by experiment; the second one, at this time in history, I believe can only be proven true based on the study of human nature and mankinds' history.

Total, perfect, socio-economic security never did exist and it never will exist. When an individual or a government proclaims that we are totally safe they are not telling you the truth because of at least two reasons:
  1. There are too many variables, known and unknown, to make this make this kind of definitive declaration.
  2. Within the current existing market system, security can be granted (even in an imperfect manner) to some entities. Examples might be banks to big to fail, industries to big to fail, GM, and other sectors of the economic world which "planners" deem to big to fail...Fannie and Fredi Mac. At first thought this might seem to be a great idea but after a little thought we all must come to the conclusion that with each guarantee "not to fail" we as non-inclusive groups or as non-inclusive individuals loose bit-by-bit, increment by increment some of our security, liberty and freedom. The government does not possess enough "stuff" to guarantee a "non-failure policy" for each of us.
Wake up America and see what is really going on around you in small positive looking policies that in reality are taking your freedom and your country away from you. Eventually you will have no choice but to submit and obey. Don't let the "planners" destroy our country and your choice to plan for yourself.

Jury clears Christians who dared to preach to U.S. Muslims

Planning for security...a double edged sword

"The planning for security which has such an insidious effect on liberty is that for security of a different kind. It is planning designed to protect individuals or groups against diminutions of their income, which although in no way deserved yet in a competitive society occurs daily, against losses imposing severe hardships having no moral justification yet inseparable from the competitive system. This demand for security is thus another form of the demand for just remuneration - a remuneration commensurate with the subjective merits and not with the objective results of a man's efforts. This kind of security or justice seems irreconcilable with freedom to choose one's employment."* I believe it would eventually lead to one's loss of freedom to choose all things based on the arbitrary wishes, decisions of the "central planner"...totalitarian government. It seems that this is the direction which this current administration is leading us.

Actions have their consequenses Bill Ayers

Congratulations to UIC board chair Christopher Kennedy and the UIC board of trustees; you made the correct and ethical decision. Actions taken by Bill Ayers during the Vietnam era and even recently in regards to having influence in the Obama administration have their consequences. Ayers was a co-founder of the Weather Underground, which according to various sources was responsible for bombings of government buildings in the early 1970s.

What really is astonishing and saddening is that some faculty members of the U of I at Chicago are considering to ask the board of trustees to reconsider its unanimous decision to not grant Bill Ayers emeritus status. What this indicates to me is what I have always thought to be true, namely that a majority of Universities and Colleges have been infiltrated over the last 50 to 75 years by liberal, progressive...some actually bordering on or actually advocating communist or Maoist models for this country. I think this event has loosened that cap on the bottle that is holding in the philosophy of collectivism and central all inclusive planning and the American people will see it as it is...a plan to fundamentally change America....to bury it. Wake up America or it will be too late.

America...take down that wall!

President Ronald Reagan used the phrase "take down that wall" when he directed it toward the President of the U.S.S.R. The power of those prophetic words eventually worked and truth prevailed; the Berlin wall was toppled from within because of a system not based on truth and was therefore not sustainable. We have a "wall" in this country that is not based on historical or legal truth and eventually it also will topple and fall into the footnotes of historical shame and of deceitful lies. We have been lied to by legal and historical revisionists that a so called "wall of separation of church and state" exists and is contained in our Constitution.   I pray that the eventual toppling of our "wall" will not account for the end of the Republic that our Founders gave to us over 200 years ago.

The problem began not over 200 years ago but in 1947 with the coupling of the  Fourteenth Amendment and the Bill of Rights by the Everson Court. The Rule adopted by a previous Supreme Court of the United States in interpreting the 14th Amendment ...makes it inapplicable to the religious liberty or any other right of the citizen as determined by the state of which he is resident. (see the cases of Paul vs. Virginia (8 Wallace, p. 168), and of New Orleans Slaughter-house  (16 Wallace, p. 36) which laid down the above principle).

Justice William Douglas, in 1970 "openly acknowledged that by coupling the Fourteenth Amendment and the Bill of Rights, the Court had not only usurped state authority over many areas but that it also created an American revolution that...*

. . . involved the imposition of new and far-reaching constitutional restraints on the states. Nationalization of many civil liberties has been the consequence of the Fourteenth Amendment, reversing the historic position that the foundations of those liberties rested largely in state law...And so the revolution occasioned by the Fourteenth Amendment has progressed as Article after Article in the Bill of Rights has been incorporated in it [by the Court] and made applicable to the states. **

The Everson decision which I believe should be reversed when the truth finally prevails and it is ruled, by another Supreme Court, as unconstitutional. Truth will eventually be the guardian of our Republic.

America...turn the page!...21 pages

Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Md the soon to be House minority leader, moaned, as was to be expected, that the Republicans  "have offered no new solutions to the problems plaguing the country." Well how about offering some "old" "tried and true solutions" that we know will work. That is exactly what the House Rebublicans' PLEDGE is doing.

Here is what's in the pledge:

Budget and taxes
  • Stop all tax hikes from taking effect Jan. 1 as a result of the expiration of cuts adopted under former President George W. Bush.
  • Cut government spending to 2008 levels to save $100 billion and limit spending increases.
  • Freeze hiring of non-security federal employees.

Health care
  • Repeal the health care law and replace with curbs on malpractice lawsuits, personal "health savings accounts" and other steps.
  • Permanently prohibit taxpayer funding of abortion.

Laws and regulations
  • Require sponsors to cite the constitutional authority for any measure moving through Congress.
  • Ensure that foreign terrorism suspects are not given civilian trials.
  • Rein in federal regulation by requiring Congress to approve any rule that has annual economic cost of $100 million or more.

Security and immigration
  • Fully fund U.S. missile defense efforts.
  • Strengthen border security and enact tougher visa reviews.

For more go to:   pledge.gop.gov

Now that's a good start!

Micromanaging and Universal Planning...good?

Today as well as in the recent past, early 1900s, and even going back to much earlier times there have been individuals, today we call them progressives, socialists, communists or Maoists or any number of other splinter groups that believe that the only hope for mankind is through centralized planning not only on a local level but on a national and global level. This false belief in global centralized planning which has been augmented by the almighty organizer god, the computer, has and is leading us down a path to self destruction based on the premise that conscious control of everything is the ultimate intellectual goal of mankind that will result in a Utopian society. In truth it will lead to totalitarianism, destruction and a final dead end...death. At first, deliberating on total global control of all the various sectors of society, industry, agriculture and the myriad of others that exist seems perfectly logical and the correct approach.

However, we are forgetting one aspect of the human condition and that decisions, truly human decisions have to take place in a specific set of variables that all the computers in the world cannot do. We as individuals or groups of individuals must have the "freedom in everything which depends on the circumstances of time and place, because only the individuals concerned in each instance can fully know these circumstances and adapt their actions to them."*

With absolute central planning, absolute rules concerning the nature of decisions must also be implemented and in doing that we slowly but eventually give up our abilities to make independent decisions and in doing so eventually loose our freedom and liberty. This does not happen all at once but only in small increments, little nudges that are hardly perceptible until we find ourselves enslaved. This "nudging" has been going on since the early 1900s and is slowly escalating...maybe even not so slowly escalating...I could be wrong. Watch, see, listen and be alert before its too late to turn back.

U.S. Dept. of State....DUMB?

  1. Balfour Declaration of 1917
  2. Palestinian Mandate of 1922
  3. Peel Commission of 1936
  4. UN Partition Plan for Palestine of 1947
  5. Oslo Accords of 1993
  6. Camp David Offer of 2000
Other assorted "peace talks":
  • Madrid Peace Conference of 1991
  • Wye River Memorandum of 1995
  • Oslo II of 1995
  • Taba of 2001
  • Road Map for Peace of 2003
  • Geneva Accord of 2003
These were all the "official" "peace talks" that were conducted between Israel and the Arab world. The one thing they all have in common is the exerting a constant pressure on Israel to make multiple and unreciprocated concessions to the Arab world. All of these so called "peace talks" have resulted in agreements which Israel has tried to keep and the Arab world has NOT. Now beginning on Sept. 2 in Washington the U.S. State Department wants new Middle East "peace talks" to begin.

What folly; how can Israel deal with the Arab world when since 1917 the Arab world has not kept their side of agreements. This is a waste of time and just enables the agenda of the Arab world to make slow steady progress by continuing their modus operandi and slowly weakening Israel through the use of the "peace talks offence". At some point in time, the U.S. has to draw a line in the sand and say "Enough"! Both parties must live up to the agreements or they are not worth a damn or the shifting political sand and economic policies which have been very generous to parts of the Arab world...the give away of vast sums of American dollars to the partner that does not keep its agreement will be stopped.

When are we, the U.S. going to stop doing dumb things again and again which have never worked in the past and will not change until the political infrastructure in the Arab world changes. Withholding the money may force those political changes to take place...money talks...peace talks walk.

Barack Obama : 7 Lies in under 2 Minutes

Pres. Obama due overdue credit?

According to Eugene Robinson, as noted in his Washington Post column "Views", President Obama deserves "some overdue credit". I say baloney to Mr. Robinson's "Views". We are worse off than on the day that the President was sworn into office.

Mr. Robinson says that the Expectations of the new president were absurdly high. I agree with the absurdly but who promoted and pushed those Expectations?.....the national media and then candidate Obama's own campaign staff. There was all sort of rhetorical flourish and promises for CHANGE and HOPE and transparency in his new administration. I have not seen much of that as reflected in Pres. Obama's approval ratings; in fact they seem to be nosediving even further.

Mr. Robinson goes on to further state that Pres. Obama should be given credit in at least four areas:
  1. The pull out of the last U.S. Combat Troops in Iraq
  2. The bail out of General Motors to the tune of $50 billion dollars
  3. The containment of the Gulf oil spill.
  4. The President's statement at the Ramadan dinner in regards to the mosque controversy.
In regards to #1: the prudence and wisdom of this action will not be determined in the short run but history and historians will determine if this was a wise action or a political one.

In regards to #2: the creation of "Government Motors" with the government owning 61% of the company; was this truly a move to save the company that did not deserve to be saved because of a poor business plan or was it a gift to the United Auto Workers Union for all that labor did to get the President elected.

In regards to #3: the circus that followed the oil spill and the deaths of eleven oil rig workers, if it was not such a sad and massive catastrophe, could be viewed at best as the government bureaucracy working at its best to get in the way of actions by BP, the State and private citizens to clean up the mess. To date the scientific authorities believe that at least 80% of the oil is still in the Gulf...so much for containment.

In regards to #4: It is of interest that the President stated his or I should say the U.S. Constitution's stance on the "mosque at ground zero" issue before a group of Muslims to supposedly gain the "high ground" on this issue but would not discuss his personal opinion, to the rank and file American community, regarding the appropriateness and wisdom of an element of the Muslim community which is pushing the building of this Muslim mosque and center.

These are the reasons that I disagree with Mr. Robinson. President Obama is not due any overdue credit at this time. Let time and history be the judge of his Presidency and decisions.

War Diary...Ted R. Gorski USN, Radarman 2nd Class

"San Francisco, Saturday, Oct. 28, 1944....U.S.S. Haskell (APA117)

We left Pier 5 at 0830. Lost sight of the Golden Gate at 0843. We stayed on course of 240 degrees all day and night. We average a speed of 16 knots. I stood the 0800 to 1200 watch.

Sunday, Oct. 29, 1944...

I stood the 1200 to 1600 watch today. We didn't pick up a single target. There are plenty of seasick fellows aboard. I didn't have much of an appetite. I didn't eat dinner. I stood the 1600 to 2000 watch. Talk is that we are bound for New Guinea. I ate a light meal this evening. The sea is very rough.

Monday, Oct. 30, 1944...

Got up at 0530. I stood the 0800 to 1200 watch. Didn't eat any breakfast. A lot of the fellows are still seasick. I haven't been seasick as of yet although I didn't feel any too good. I ate 3 sandwiches and 3 apples for dinner. I feel pretty good. The sea is still rough. We are about 1/3 of the way to Honolulu. All evening I read a book entitled "Assignment in Brittany". An interesting story. I retired early.

Tuesday, Oct. 31, 1944...

I got up at 0330. I stood the 0400 to 0800 watch. A ship (cargo vessel) which was 30 hours behind us was torpedoed last night. It was on the same route as we were. After torpedoing the ship the submarine surfaced and shelled it. As a result the ship was sunk with half the crew missing. We are traveling ourselves as we have no escort. We had a fire in Number One hold at 1100. It was under control at 1130. I stood watch from 1800 to 2000. It is getting warmer every day."

Pres. Obama....don't lecture Israel

President Obama, whose domestic, economic and foreign policies are in shambles has no business lecturing Israel's Prime Minister Netenyahu at their last meeting in July. The President presumed to push Israel and Mr. Netenyahu into a position of "willing to take risks for peace." Since Israel's founding over 60 years ago, that nation has taken many "risks" in the hope that it would further in developing peace with the Palestinians and Gaza. All of these risks were to no avail, they were unilateral on the part of Israel and were rewarded by more rockets, bombs and attacks against Israel's military and innocent civilians.

Over the last 60 plus years, Israel has been rewarded, by the Arab world, with nothing in return except more violence and more killing and more vitriol. Rational people and governments eventually reach a point when they have an epiphany; you can't deal with the other side until they have a conversion, a change of heart. Until that time comes nothing will change for the better and our President is intelligent enough to know that fact.

The Gathering Storm

In the very early days of our country's existence it was often called the American Union of States. The unity of the United States of America was forged out in two major storms, the Revolutionary War against Great Britain and the War Between the States (the Civil War) a domestic war among ourselves. The first war was fought to free ourselves from the tyranny of King George the III and the English parliament which abused us and the second for a variety of economic, moral (slavery), cultural and racial issues. These two storms eventually passed after the loss of many lives and after the soil of America was sanctified by the blood of many Americans...it, the United States now is a sacred place because of the lives which were lost to forge and hammer it into the United States, the Union.

Today another storm is gathering in this country; a storm of direction, a storm which will determine weather we continue to follow the path and foundations and principles which our Founding Fathers laid out in the Constitution of the United States or one that is made up to fulfill the whims and fancies of the politically elite. Will our country continue to be a country of law or a country of men who can warp and corrupt it in the so-called name of "progress"; who can change that which we call good and virtuous into bad and evil. If those who promote and proselytize win the battle for moral relativism in this country I believe we will loose the Republic which our Founders gave to us and will dishonor all those who gave their last in the aforementioned storms.

A NEW QUARTET...has been formed?

In the very recent past you could always count on the so called political entity of the European Union, the United Nations and Russia as being the "Triumvirate" that was uniformly anti-Israel. Now to the surprise of most American citizens the United States in the form of it's President, Barack Obama has joined that group to form a new "Quartet" that is anti-Israel. President Barack Obama has gone out of his way to make his feelings known to the people of Israel. Shortly after moving into the Oval Office, President Obama returned a bust of Winston Churchill to the British Embassy in the District of Colombia. You have to understand historically Winston Churchill considered himself as one of the "authors" of Britain's embrace of Zionism via the Balfour Declaration of 1917. This Declaration basically stated that the British Goverment favored the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine. Now you can understand why Churchill had to be removed from Pres. Obama's office; a difference of idealogies?

Moving forward in time to 2009 in Cairo, in a speech, President Obama then stated that, in part, Israel existed because of the Jewish suffering in the Holocoust and that Palestinian people including Muslims and Christians have suffered in trying to establish a homeland also. The equivalency of these two diverging statements I believe does not exist at the same level. This White House thinks differently about the State of Israel; considerably different than all previous administrations.

Israel with its deep history of nationhood extending back to the time of King David, 3000 years ago and even before that another 1000 to 1500 years is beyond unintelligible to the current Obama Adminstration. American liberals and progressives will never be able to understand or put themselves in the shoes of the people and the State of Israel. I believe this is a point in time, a tipping point, in our relationship with Israel.

Obama..the Legislator in Chief

According to Provision 8, Article 1, Section 1, Paragraph 1 of the U.S. Constitution; "All legislative or lawmaking powers granted by this Constitution shall be vested exclusively in the Congress of the United States."

According to this provision of the U.S. Constitution every American has the right NOT to be subject to any federal law unless reviewed, scrutinized and approved by a majority of the peoples representatives. This process however has be eroded since the late 19th and early 20th Century and to the present day.

This process of legislative action has been circumvented by the use of the use of the Presidential Executive Orders and a newer tactic by the appointment of Czars to manage and control various sensitive areas in government and the private sector; these Czars seem to be answerable to only the President and by the use of them and executive orders the Executive circumvents the intent of the U.S. Constitution and the Founding Fathers. It seems that in Washington D.C. the government looks on the Constitution as a historical document that really does not matter any more. Situational legislation is practiced both by the Congress and the President and if a serious problem or crisis contrived or true is present it makes this end run around the Constitution even more easy.

The people of this country should be crying out loud "FOUL" and every time this tactic is used it should be challenged and taken to the Federal Courts and if needed to the Supreme Court. This type of legislation by idea logs must be stopped or this country and its Constitution will disintegrate.

The Treaty Of Versailles

On June 28, 1919, the First World War officially came to an end when France and Germany signed the Treaty of Versailles with the Allies. The German delegation, which had been forced to sign the punitive agreement, signaled their attitude by breaking the ceremonial pen.

The treaty required Germany to pay such onerous reparations to the victors that the country was impoverished for the next two decades. The terms were regarded with such bitterness in Germany that many historians believe they were directly responsible for the rise of Nazism and World War II.

One little footnote that has been almost forgotten: President Woodrow Wilson, the most powerful person at that conference, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1920 for his efforts there. As Henry Kissinger could testify, it would not be the last time the 'peace' prize had very little to do with achieving a just and lasting peace.

John Locke...someone the Fathers learned from

In 1690 John Locke published two famous essays on The Original Extent and End of Civil Government. In his second essay he wrote:

"In all lawful governments, the designation of the persons who are to bear rule being an natural and necessary a part as the form of the government itself, and that which had its establishment ORIGINALLY FROM THE PEOPLE...all commonwealths, therefore, with the form of government established, have rules also of appointing and conveying the right to those who are to have any share in the public authority; and whoever into the exercise of any part of the power by other ways than what the laws of the community have prescribed hath no right to be obeyed, though the form of the commonwealth be still preserved, since he is not the person THE PEOPLE HAVE CONSENTED TO. Nor can such an usurper, or any deriving from him, ever have a title till the PEOPLE ARE BOTH AT LIBERTY TO CONSENT, AND HAVE ACTUALLY CONSENTED, to allow and confirm in him the power he hath till then usurped." (Locke, Second Essay Concerning Civil Government, pp. 70-71, par. 198; emphasis added.)

Repeal the Seventeenth Amendment

The Founding Fathers had intended that two Senators from each state would be appointed by the state legislature rather than elected by the people of that state. This was hoped to avoid the chance of a person who because of his "popularism" and "charisma" being voted in as the Senator of that state; it was hoped to avoid a person with "flash" and no substance from becoming a Senator.

It was thought and hoped by the Founding Fathers that the Senators appointed by state legislatures would be representing the states as sovereign entities. Senators would then not have to be compelled to involve themselves in the popular sometimes frivolous issues of the electorate and could concentrate on protection of states' rights, maintaining the established order, balancing the budget, and keeping taxes low as possible. It was also hoped they could keep the tempestuousness of the House at a more moderate level. They were to be the deliberate more long term "thinkers" of the Congress, our elder more wise statesmen. I think that the Founding Fathers had the right idea especially after viewing what a circus like atmosphere we have now in both the House and Senate.

Seventeenth Amendment.....Repeal It!

For those of you who may not be up on the Amendments to the
US Constitution I will state the two provisions of the Seventeenth Amendment.

PROVISION 266

The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each state, elected to a six-year term by the people thereof; and each Senator shall have one vote.

PROVISION 267

When a Senate seat becomes vacant for any reason, the governor of that state shall issue writs of election to fill such vacancy; however, the legislature of any state may empower the governor to make a temporary appointment until the people fill the vacancy by an election as the legislature shall direct.

We shall discuss the implications of this amendment in my next blog as to how it diminishes the states rights and balance with the federal government.

Pay To Pray!

Philadelphia Pa., 1787, June 28, Constitutional Convention, 81 year old Benjamin Franklin made this plea to the Convention:

In the beginning of the contest with Britain, when we were sensible of
danger, we had daily prayers in this room for divine protection. Our prayers,
sir, were heard; and they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged
in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a superintending
Providence in our favor. To that kind of Providence we owe this happy
opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing our future
national felicity. And have we now forgotten that powerful Friend? Or do we
imagine that we no longer need (His) assistance?

God's Providence was certainly in evidence at the beginning of this nation and it is certainly needed at this time of peril.

" I, therefore, beg leave to move:

"That hereafter prayers, imploring the assistance of Heaven and its blessing on our deliberations, held in this assembly every morning before we proceed to business, and that one or more of the clergy of this city be requested to officiate in that service."

Revisionist historians have painted the Founding Fathers as best Deists and at worse self-serving selfish beings concerned with their own welfare. Do the above statements sound like the Founding Fathers were Godless, non God fearing men...by no means. Read your original sources...not commentary by revisionist historians who are working towards their own agenda. They wound up not having daily prayers in the AM at the beginning of business not because they did not want to but because the colonies had not considered it in the budget....clergymen in Philadelphia were paid for their services daily. Things turned out pretty well...I guess God did not consider paid for prayers necessary but only the goodness in the hearts and souls of the founders.

Believe It Or Not!

I purchased a copy of the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Articles of Confederation printed in a single volume by a company in the United States. A disclaimer was at the beginning of the book; copyrighted Wilder Publications.

The disclaimer read:

United Nations must go!

I believe that the value of the United Nations in New York City has outlived its usefulness and needs to move to a different country and needs to find another country other than the US to pay its fair share to continue the blatant misuse of its funds. I believe the American taxpayer is fed up and tired of subsidizing this club of do nothing, anti-free world hypocrites who lead the life of a celebrity in New York City. Kick them out and tell them not to let the door nob hit them in the butt. Oh, and by the way pay up your traffic tickets. I find the UN as it exists now totally useless and counterproductive to the maintenance and freedom of the people of the world.

Pres. Obama said we are not a Judeo-Christian Nation? - an open letter

Dear Pres. Obama:

Perhaps it was not on your required reading list at law school but I invite you to stroll over to the Library of Congress, if you were able to get a library card in light of the sparsity of your identification documents, and pick up a copy of The Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of the United States, by Benjamin F. Morris, and published by American Vision Press, Powder Springs, Georgia. This 1060 page tome, which took over 12 years to research and write, gives original sources of proof that establishes the Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of the United States dating back to the first settlements in the 1600s. Indirectly since much of the reasoning used in establishing these early civil institutions and codes and behavior were taken from the Christian bible which I am sure you must know includes the Old Testament, Judaic elements were also included in the earliest civil life and settlements of this country.

It is true that we are a nation of many religions but our Founders and the leaders who formulated civil life and institutions in the 1600s used Judeo-Christian values in doing so. Do yourself a favor and read it; I believe it will broaden your vision of the United States and give you and more realistic perspective of who we are.

Respectfully yours,
Richard W. Gorski, M.D.

President Obama

It Would Help If Your Administration Would Actually Read Arizona’s New Law.

Facing a plague of murders, kidnappings and criminal mayhem, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed a simple, no-nonsense bill into state law that would help secure Arizona's southern border.

Within hours, even though he had not read the law, Barack Obama had the audacity to call it "misguided" and "irresponsible." He said: “And I want everyone, American and Mexican, to know my administration is taking a very close look at the Arizona law. We’re examining any implications...." Obama added: "I’ve directed my Justice Department to ... look very carefully at the language of this law to see whether it comports both with our core values and existing legal standards...."

"Taking a very close look...?" ... has anyone in the administration even bothered "to look very carefully at the language of this law?”

It appears not.

Attorney General Eric Holder confessed recently that he has not read the Arizona law; and yet, his "Justice Department" is going to fight it tooth-and-nail. The head of the Department of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, admits that she has not read it; and yet, ICE is indicating that it will not cooperate with Arizona on enforcement of the law.

How can you "examine" the "implications" of a law if you refuse to read it?

Of course, if they had bothered to read it, perhaps they would understand that Arizona’s law closely mirrors the federal immigration statutes already on the books. The difference is that Arizona, unlike the federal government, actually plans to enforce it.

Senator Sessions even went so far as to accuse the Obama Administration of “nullifying existing law.” Senator Sessions is understating the argument. The Obama Administration isn't simply "nullifying the law." The Obama Administration is actively fighting it.

And this arrogant and egregious dereliction of duty must stop... TODAY.

The Chains that keep us free

Sounds strange that "chains" should "keep us free"; sounds like an oxymoron doesn't it. Nothing however could be truer. George Washington and the Founding Fathers looked at a centralized government as a potential for great good or great evil; just like human nature there is the potential for doing great good or being the instrument for great evil. The question was how to constrain the evil and expand the good. The answer was that the government had to be harnessed by the people who where handing over to it the permission to rule and enforce in their name; in other words to govern them.

The best answer they came up with was the Constitution of the United States. It harnessed the powers of the Federal Government within the confines of a strictly interpreted Constitution. If the Constitution was malleable and easily changeable it would destroy the freedom it was designed to preserve.

Washington said:

"Government is not reason, it is not eloquence - it is force! Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master."
(Quoted in Jacop M. Braude, Lifetime Speaker's Encyclopedia, 2 vols. , Englewood Cliffs, N. J.: Prentice-Hall, Inc., 1962, 1:326)

National Debt & Generational Debts

Common sense, a commodity that the Founders of our democratic republic possessed was responsible for their attitude toward a national debt. With wisdom born of experience they knew that the debts of a nation are no different than the debts of an individual or family. For dire circumstances such as war or natural disasters Article 1 of the Constitution allows the nation to borrow monies needed. However it was a matter of utmost importance that the debt be paid as soon as possible so that the nation could prosper.

This is reflected in what Thomas Jefferson said:
I, however, place economy among the first and most important of republican virtues, and public debt as the greatest of the dangers to be feared.
(Bergh, Writings of Thomas Jefferson, 15:47.)

Why is Mr. Obama pursuing a course 180 degrees opposite to what Thomas Jefferson recommended? Ask yourself that question; any rational answers?

Mr. Jefferson made a particular point about the immorality of passing on debt to ones children:

"That we are bound to defray (the wars) expenses within our own time, and unauthorized to burden posterity with them, I suppose to have been proved in my former letter... We shall all consider our-selves morally bound to pay them ourselves; and consequently within the life (expectancy) of the majority ... We must raise, then ourselves the money for this war, either by taxes within the year or by loans ; and if by loans, we must repay them ourselves, proscribing forever the English practice of perpetual funding. (Bergh, Writings of Thomas Jefferson, 13:357-358.)

Why does the administration and congress seem to have forgotten these words of wisdom?

American Exceptionalism....believe it!!!

James Madison may have summed it up better than any of the other Founding Fathers when he wrote:

Happily for America, happily we trust FOR THE WHOLE HUMAN RACE, they (the Founding Fathers) pursued a new and more noble course. They accomplished a revolution which has no parallel in the annals of human society. They reared the fabrics of governments which have no model on the face of the globe. They formed the design of a great Confederacy, which it is incumbent on their successors to improve and perpetuate. (Federalist Papers, No. 14, pp. 104-5; emphasis added.)
Sorry Mr. Obama but I do not agree with you; we are EXCEPTIONAL and you as President should know this in your soul.

Sunday, May 16, 2010

Mr.Obama didn't you know or did you forget?

THE PROPER ROLE OF GOVERNMENT IS TO PROTECT EQUAL RIGHTS, NOT PROVIDE EQUAL THINGS. This was one of the fundamental principles that the Founding Fathers knew had to be used, based on reason and the natural law, in the Constitution of the United States. They understood that even though it was in vogue in Europe, at the time, (and even today) the act of taking from the "rich" and giving to the "poor" contained a glaring fallacy.

That glaring fallacy was and still is that the people cannot empower their government with powers which they themselves do not have a natural lawful right to themselves. A proper assignment of power given to the government by the people would be the creation of a fire department; to protect life and their property. An example of an improper granting of a power to a government would be for example; the government surveys families in an area and finds that 50% of the families in this area has two TVs and the other 50% has none. Then in the name of beneficence or call it warped "social justice", a new name for Marxism, the government creates an immoral but legal law that orders the families with two TV to give one of their TVs to a family with none all in the name of "spreading the wealth and goods around" in an equitable manner. The problem with this is that the "people" do not have the right to empower their government with this power to confiscate personal property and give it to those who don't have it; not if you believe in natural law and reason. Only anarchists or Marxists would propose such a redistribution of the wealth and goods that belong to other people who obtained it legally. If you gave it to your neighbor in an act of charity...fine...no problem. Marxism, social justice and spreading the wealth around can be dangerous because the devil is in the details of how it is done. Stay allert!

Advice to Pres. Obama from Ben Franklin & others

"Think what you do when you run in debt; you give to another power over your liberty." ...Benjamin Franklin

Thomas Jefferson wrote:
"The maxim of buying nothing without the money in our pockets to pay for it would make our country one of the happiest on earth. Experience during the (Revolutionary) war proved this; and I think every man will remember that, under all the privations it obliged him to submit to during that period, he slept sounder and awoke happier than he can do now." Ford, Writings of Thomas Jefferson, 4:414.)

President Washington made it perfectly clear when he said in an address to Congress: "No pecuniary consideration is more urgent than the regular redemption and discharge of the public debt; on none can delay be more injurious, or an economy of time more valuable."

President Obama, I guess you don't subscribe to these fundamental principals of these Founding Fathers of our country... that is a shame that will haunt us and our great, great grandchildren.

Well maybe the PCSO force has arrived in the U.S.

Well if you have not heard by now the Pentagon (AKA...PCSO?) see the second previous blog, in disguise has dis-invited Reverend Franklin Graham to speak at the Pentagon's National Day of Prayer event; the Reverend Graham is the honorary chairman of the task force that runs the National Day of Prayer. I guess First Amendment Rights don't mean much to the "big boys", the ones with the stars on their uniforms,
at the Pentagon....even though our soldiers are fighting and dying in Iraq and Afghanistan for these rights for the citizens of these countries.

Shame on any military, civilian or even presidential individual (emphasis of the lower case p in presidential on purpose) who singularly or as a group slapped all evangelical Christians...no all Christians and believers in Jesus Christ. Bad decision boys! It will come back again and again and haunt you.

Reflections for Legislators and Supreme Court

Many people today fear the Federal Government has gone beyond the powers that the Constitution has vested in it. Here is a reflection from James Madison, one of the Founding Fathers of this country.

"The adversaries of the Constitution seem to have lost sight of the PEOPLE altogether in their reasonings on this subject; and to have viewed these different establishments not only as mutual rivals and enemies, but as uncontrolled by any common superior in their efforts to usurp the authorities of each other. These gentlemen must be reminded of their error. They must be told that the ULTIMATE AUTHORITY, wherever the derivative may be found, RESIDES IN THE PEOPLE ALONE." (Federalist Papers, No. 46, p. 294; emphasis added.)

So they had similar problems way back in 1776; our American experiment continues and with Providence and the spirit of the American People it will continue and improve as long as we keep to the principals that this Republic was founded on.

Are we next for the PCSO force in the U.S.?

A 42 year old Baptist street preacher in Workington, Cumbria, UK, who for years has preached Christianity is arrested and thrown into a jail cell for reading the word of God, the Bible. The arrest was made after a homosexual police community support officer (PCSO) heard his reciting a number of "sins" referred to in the Bible; among these included blasphemy, drunkenness and same sex relationships. The PCSO charged him with using abusive or insulting language, contrary to the U.K's Public Order Act. Mr. McAlpine was taken to the police station and confined in a cell for several hours. He was deprived of his freedom and treated like a common criminal.

The Public Order Act was introduced in 1986 to tackle violent rioters and football hooligans but now is being used to stop religious free speech.

Are we on the administration's agenda to have "special laws" (unconstitutional ones) for special groups that will add badly needed votes (voting blocks) to win close elections? Somehow I feel that we are; how about you?

Obama's Private Unelected Government?

The Obama czars enjoy significant bureaucratic power which is doing an "end run" around Congress and are compensated six figure salaries and some are alleged to tilt so far to the left that some allege are socialist or bordering very close to communism.

They answer only to Obama and he (Obama) has appointed nearly 40 of them. To me this seems to be a government within a government. Here are a few just to give you the flavor of this: health reform czar, border czar, counter terrorism czar, urban czar, global warming czar, domestic violence czar, stimulus accountability czar, Eurasian energy czar, Great Lakes czar, safe schools czar. These czars have never been elected, nor confirmed by the Senate but still have immense over our government and each of us in our daily lives.

Where in the US Constitution are such positions authorized and the President authorized to create and endow these individuals with this power and responsibility without accountability to no one except Obama?

I am truly concerned about what President Obama's agenda is in creating a "government within a government".

What do you think? I would appreciate your insight.

Health Care Bill...onset of Obama monarchy?

With the passage of "Obamacare" thanks to the Harry Reid/Nancy Pelosi elitist government you can probably expect the following things among many other unforeseen things to happen in a poorly thought out (probably mostly unread) piece of legislation:

  • tax dollars will be used to pay for abortions; the executive order signed by Obama is not worth the paper its written on and will not stop the largest expansion of abortions that will be seen
  • health insurance premiums will rise by as much as 13% according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO)
  • small business will be stifled and will reduce jobs or forgo any thought of hiring new people to fill new positions
  • the Federal Government however will GROW by at least 16,000 new IRS Agents (at a minimal cost of $10 billion) to be the enforcement branch of this new piece of entitlement; just what we want, more government on our backs to make sure they get paid or they will fine, levy or I would not be surprised if they would prosecute some and imprison them. I guess this is what President Obama meant by CHANGE and SPREADING THE WEALTH.

So when you go to the polls in November think of these things before you vote and ask yourself is this the direction that you want your country to go? The future of your country, your and yours children's' liberties may depend on your choice.

Administration and leftist congress hijacked and perverted Social Justice?

Social Justice has been defined as the respect for the human person and the rights which flow from human dignity and guarantee it.

Social justice can be obtained only in respecting the transcendent dignity of man. The person represents the ultimate end of society, which is ordered to him: the late John Paul II said,

What is at stake is the dignity of the human person, whose defense and promotion have been entrusted to us by the Creator, and to whom the men and women at every moment of history are strictly and responsibly in debt.

In the Declaration of Independence it states that all men are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights and that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. No where in this document or in the Constitution does it state also an inalienable right to health care; if the government, with the consent of the governed wishes to create such a legislative policy it may do so if done in a lawful and legitimate matter. If it does so the government does not confer a new human right on its citizens it simply creates a new entitlement program for them. Rights are intrinsic to the human nature of created beings freely given to them by their creator. Words and concepts are important don't confuse political policy with intrinsic human rights or some day you may find yourself in the chains of slavery and subjugation of your government....it is designed to happen slowly over many years so that no one notices it until the chains are firmly placed and locked...and then it may be too late.

Judge politicians and all men not by just what they may say at any certain time in their lifetime but by the actions that they take and if the actions are moral and consistent with our Founding Fathers' principles and documents.

Above all be vigilant and always be aware of liars and stand up to them and call them on their lies...otherwise we may loose this Republic.

ACORN ceases ops...April 1...how appropriate

From materials posted by Personal Liberty News Desk it appears that the very far left and controversial organizing group known as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, President Obama's buddies during his days as a community organizer is going out of business because they are not going to get our federal tax payers dollars any more...well its about time. The official announced date for their closure is April 1st...how appropriate.

ACORN's funding and its reputation was hit hard by several reports of alleged voter fraud and embezzlement and a video which was wide spread.

Based on the video and the alleged voter fraud Congress pulled federal funding and private donors have backed away from the organization.

But will they really close down or simply divide and multiply under a myriad of AKAs (also known as) organizations making it more difficult to track and follow the questionable activities of these new organizations. I suspect that even though the head of the snake has been cut off the remaining parts will still be up to mischief....will any of it be illegal?

Handguns and caffeine

Starbucks Corp. has said its policy of letting in customers with handguns openly carried in states where openly carried handguns are legal will continue. The company will follow the law and not get in the middle between pro and anti gun advocates. So now you can pack heat not only in your cup of joe but on your belt. I bet there won't be many Starbucks stores being robed at gun point...it might prove dangerous to the robbers health to say the least. Also I bet there won't be many "whack jobs" going into Starbucks and opening fire on the customers unless they want to commit suicide by open carry civilians.

Stay tuned to this blog, I will let you know about their policy about states that permit concealed carry when I find out.

Want to bet your life (your family's lives)?

If you feel uncomfortable with sidearms and feel that all the protection you will ever need is your local police force than this article is not for you. You can rest easy falsely believing that at any time and any place the police will come to your rescue and be there to save you and your family from injury or death at any time, night or day, seven days a week all year long....year after year.

If you are of a more realistic mindset and know that only you are ultimately responsible for your and your family's personal safety I recommend that you go to:

Gun fight...Washington D.C....Tuesday

In case after case across this country, in countless courtrooms it has been decided that the police are not liable or responsible for your personal safety or that of whatever property you possess or own. So who is? You are ultimately responsible for your own safety and that of your possessions.

In 2008 the Supreme Court struck down Washington D.C.'s handgun ban. On this coming Tuesday oral arguments will be presented to the Supreme Court to strike down the prohibition against law abiding Chicagoans from owning a handgun and keeping it in their home for self defence. We are not talking about concealed carry but just having a firearm in your home to protect yourself and your family. The case that will be presented is called McDonald v. City of Chicago. Why would anyone want to stop a law abiding citizen from defending his/her life, his/her families lives?

The attorneys general for Florida, Texas, Alaska, and 34 other states have urged the court to strike down Chicago 's gun ban. So have a majority of members of Congress and individual prosecutors from 34 California counties. What is it that these local mayors and small time politicians afraid off...could it be the realization that you, not govenment, are responsible for yourself and your family and that a lot of what they do is superfluous and unnecessary. If you don't have the fundamental right to defend your life you have nothing and the Constitution means nothing if this fundamental right is not upheld.

Similar problems at "The Acreage"?

"The Acreage" a town about 20 miles from West Palm Beach in Florida has been asking Florida officials to conduct more extensive tests to see what if anything may be causing higher rates of brain tumors and cancer among children. Health officials have confirmed higher rates than normal in that area. The local health department has done all it can and the state health department said it would further test the water and the soil.

The Governor, Charlie Crist, said he would seek federal help in the investigation.

According to the surgeon general of Florida the state health department has done all it can.

I know it is an uncomfortable feeling not to have an answer but sometimes that is just the way it is; someday the technology and medical insight will develop to the point that an absolute cause-effect relationship can be determined. This does little to settle the hurt and devastation and loss to the people affected by this tragic occurrence.

Hope floats....where is the CHANGE?

Shortly after President Elect Barack Obama became President Obama he came to Fort Myers Florida. He promised a gathering of about 1500 people at Harborside Event Center the following: "If we want to fully turn this crisis around the starting point is to get people back to work right now."

Well it hasn't happened, now almost a year later, Fort Myers still has one of the highest foreclosure rates in the nation.....NO CHANGE. The unemployment rate has changed for the worse by increasing 2 percentage points to 13.8%...NO CHANGE EXCEPT NEGATIVE.

The $787 billion economic recovery plan NEVER CHANGED Fort Myers in a positive manner. So much for fulfilling CHANGE promises in a positive manner to the people of Fort Myers. The local failure reflects a expanding national dissatisfaction. His approval rating has dropped to 48% according to Gallup.

President Obama had better listen to the people or there will be a change at the helm of this country following the elections in 2012. He should start listening instead of blaming Pres. Bush and lecturing to the people, his boss, or he will be back in the classroom teaching law.

Haiti aid target of corruption & graft?

As I have often said no good deed goes unpunished; and I suspect that goes double in Haiti. The Cape Christian Fellowship in Cape Coral Florida collected thousands of dollars of goods for humanitarian aid for an orphanage in Haiti. When the donated humanitarian aid landed at the Cap-Haitien airport in Haiti corrupt Haitian custom officials demanded they pay $120 in duties in spite of the materials being labeled "No fees for humanitarian aid". The goods were diapers, baby food, toys and cribs were not allowed to leave the airport until the demand for payment was meet.

According to Cape Coral pilot, David Beauvois, "the government is so corrupt...what they really need to do is get the American military here to regulate like they do in Port-au-Prince." He also said that customs agents have been known to take the aid and keep it or sell it. The aid eventually did make its way to the orphanage after a multitude of hassles with Haitian officials and self appointed "officials?". If this is going on in just one part of the country you can imagine what the scale of corruption and graft is nation wide. Be careful to whom you donate money or goods too; make sure the charity is large enough and has enough clout to avoid this type of extortion.

Veterans Administration spying on you?

Under federal law, anyone who is "adjudicated as a mental defective" is a "prohibited person" who may not possess or receive firearms. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) interpretation of this has applied this term "prohibited person" to veterans and
family members who receive VA benefits, but who are unable to manage their own financial affairs.
For almost 10 years the VA has reported these financially challenged individuals and their family members to the FBI for inclusion in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). This list is used to screen for and deny firearm purchases to these "so called" "prohibited persons". In a word they denied these people their Second Amendment Rights by interpreting what they considered a "prohibited person" is.
In Sept. 2009, the VA issued another directive to its regional offices, ordering staff to report potential (yes I did say potential) "prohibited persons" to the BATFE, where investigations could result in criminal (yes I did say criminal) prosecutions of GIs who were in combat, other veterans and family beneficiaries. Now they not only took away your Second Amendment Right but opened you up to criminal charges and incarceration. I thought we were fighting a War on Terrorism but apparently it included GIs, veterans and their family.
Finally after multiple complaints from the VA's own employees, legislators, and other organizations safeguarding our civil rights the VA rescinded this policy.
To safeguard our freedoms we must be eternally vigilante about individuals or agencies within our own government from slowly eroding our freedoms and their subtle and sometimes not to subtle attack on the Constitution of the United States of America. Be warned!
