Adjectives important in WAR TIME REPORTING
In reading this morning's News-Press, the News Digest section on the front page reported,in small print, "A suicide bomber detonates his explosive vest .... killing eight Americans." What the leading line of the front page of the newspaper should have read in one inch bold print is SUICIDAL MILITANT ISLAMIST JIHADIST MURDERS EIGHT AMERICANS; that would have described what happened in a much more focused and truthful manner consistent with what is really happening in the war against jihadists which is a fight to the death initiated and continued by this murderous faction against western ideas, freedoms and civilization. This is going to be a WAR that will last a long time; probably until the great majority of peaceful, law abiding Muslims stand up and crush this faction of their high jacked religion from the people who would use it not only to kill infidels (non-Muslims) but their fellow Muslims who just don't go along with their brand of Islam. Until this happens the WAR will continue to go on and more and more people will die using Allah/God to justify their actions. This is the greatest sin of all.

Excited
I am very excited; I have just become an international blogger. I received a comment, a positive one, on my last blog. The gentleman goes by "Fighter Jet" and resides in India and is in the consulting business. Now my reach goes beyond McHenry County Illinois to the vast world encompassing the Internet. The truth will set us free...the media is being forced to be fair and balanced or those who are not will go out of business...there is hope so do not despair.

President "plan a day" Obama
It seems that every time I turn on the radio, watch the TV or open the newspaper President Obama has a new plan to announce for the day. Usually they are vague, cloudy, foggy and don't contain any specific details on how he is going to do it or afford it. The one thing it does do is keep his face and voice in the public venue....like he really is doing something. Announcing a plan of the day and really getting something accomplished are two different things. Just like a politician's promises and what he really accomplishes are two different things. Words, promises and plans are nothing unless they accomplish what they are supposed to do...as we all have seen, what politicians say to bolster their image and improve their public approval rating is one thing and what they really do can be a world apart. So listen to all the nice talk, promises and goals but follow them up by seeing if anything ever gets accomplished. Look in today's Herald and read about his new plan of the day, his "job - creation plan". I can also promise you the world and everything in it but if I were you I would not believe me because I couldn't deliver on my promise. So BEWARE of prophets and Presidents bearing to many promises.

Mr. President, be a Leader not a Lawyer!
"Change","we can do it" and all the energy of the Obama campaign: where has it gone? When I was listening to the address the President made to the cadets at West Point Military Academy I felt as though he was giving a eulogy at a funeral. President Obama, the Commander in Chief, the supreme leader of the military of this great nation first asks these brave, young, courageous young men and women to do their duty which in many cases means to risk their young lives and is some cases to give their lives for this country and then the next moment he is talking about a withdrawal strategy...what school of leadership did he go to?
The cadets wanted to hear something uplifting, bigger than themselves, patriotic and heroic... not when we are coming home and details of politicians and foreign policy. You may have delivered what the left wanted, the middle wanted and the right wanted but what the cadets wanted to hear was we are in this until VICTORY has be won.
As a lawyer I'll give you an "A" for the speech; as a President, Commander in Chief, and Leader of America an "F". Mr. President, keep trying, maybe someday you will get it...I pray.

WAR is about KILLING
The movie Letters from Iwo Jima is a very good movie but it could never have been made during the days of the Second World War; the timing would have been all wrong. During the war we did not want to think of Japanese soldiers as being human beings with wives and families and the things that are shared by all sentient beings. During war the prime objective is to kill the enemy as fast and in great enough numbers to entirely wipe him out...so that there is not a chance of him coming back some day and re- initiating retaliation. Ancient civilizations knew this simple fact. Today we seem to forget what they knew; they knew that you don't want to understand your enemy you simply want to dehumanize him and kill him before he can kill you.
I understand and respect the position of Professor Marc Falkoff of Northern Illinois University but I disagree with his timing and maybe his motivation because I cannot read his mind. During a time of war we cannot afford the luxury of trying to understand and show the enemy compassion; our job is to win and to win the enemy has to be dehumanized and made into a beast that needs to be killed and destroyed. It is difficult to kill a fellow human being if you attribute to him feelings of love of family, wife, children and all the good attributes we attach to humanity. Therefore both sides, in war, dehumanize the enemy so that killing can be made easier and less traumatic to the individual doing the killing; it is not a natural act that comes naturally to most of us but has to be taught and drilled into us...thank God.
I believe that the time for understanding, showing compassion for reading his reflections and poetry is after we have won the War on Terrorism. To do so when we are engaged in it would only weaken our resolve and focus on VICTORY, a word that I did not hear once during President Obama's speech at West Point.
