GEORGE WASHINGTON STATED

Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples' liberty teeth.

First Inaugural Address of George Washington...April 30, 1789

The preservation of the sacred fire of liberty and the destiny of the republican model of government are justly considered as deeply, perhaps as finally, staked on the experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people.

The Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Abraham Lincoln said:

"In this age, and in this country, public sentiment is everything. With it, nothing can fail; against it nothing can suceed. Whoever molds public sentiment goes deeper than he who enacts statutes, or pronounces judicial decisions."

James Madison Declared

The adversaries of the Constitution seem to have lost sight of the PEOPLE altogether in their reasonings on this subject; and to have viewed these different establishments not only as mutual rivals and enemies, but as uncontrolled by any common superior in their efforts to usurp the authorities of each other. These gentlemen must be reminded of their error. They must be told that the ULTIMATE AUTHORITY, wherever the derivative may be found, RESIDES IN THE PEOPLE ALONE. Pres. Obama said we are not a Judeo-Christian Nation? - an open letter

Dear Pres. Obama:

Perhaps it was not on your required reading list at law school but I invite you to stroll over to the Library of Congress, if you were able to get a library card in light of the sparsity of your identification documents, and pick up a copy of The Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of the United States, by Benjamin F. Morris, and published by American Vision Press, Powder Springs, Georgia. This 1060 page tome, which took over 12 years to research and write, gives original sources of proof that establishes the Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of the United States dating back to the first settlements in the 1600s. Indirectly since much of the reasoning used in establishing these early civil institutions and codes and behavior were taken from the Christian bible which I am sure you must know includes the Old Testament, Judaic elements were also included in the earliest civil life and settlements of this country.

It is true that we are a nation of many religions but our Founders and the leaders who formulated civil life and institutions in the 1600s used Judeo-Christian values in doing so. Do yourself a favor and read it; I believe it will broaden your vision of the United States and give you and more realistic perspective of who we are.

Respectfully yours,
Richard W. Gorski, M.D.

Thanks again, Dr. Gorski, for the fair and balanced perspective of U.S. history, rather than the sanitized version which a great
majority of folks are hearing from
various sources,i.e., the left wing liberals, the secular media and a majority of those who are responsible for our public educational system curriculum. We're not talking about doctrine here, nor are we saying the government should abandon the principles of separation of church and state, per the First Amendment. What we are saying is that America's founding fathers established our country on the same traditional Judaeo-Christian principles such as individual liberty, personal responsibility toward our neighbor and ourself, the sanctity of life, and equality for men and women of all races. Also, it's good to remind folks that our freedoms haven't come to us "free," but rather at a great cost. As for our current president's attempts to rewrite American history, we may only conclude that Mr. Obama is still deeply angered and affected by personal injustices from his own or his parent's circumstances, and must also still cling to the tenets of Liberation Theology, as espoused by his former spiritual and idealogical mentor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, whose anti-American rants are well-known by most anyone who followed the last election cycle.
