Five Star General and President of the United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower, in one of his memoirs, said this about the death toll in World War II; "The loss of lives that might have otherwise been creatively lived scars the mind of the civilized world." Since Roe v. Wade more that a million lives have been lost to abortions each year in this country. The same can be said about the loss of these innocent lives also; what an egregious loss of human potential and creativity that might have changed the world for the better. I believe that the moral aspects of abortion notwithstanding, that our society has the civil responsibility to curb the rate of abortion on demand to an absolute minimum. Our society, has an intrinsic right to protect the lives of the unborn if for no other reason than it has the selfish right of society to protect these unborn potentially creative lives (self preservation). Who knows what the millions of lives that have already have been aborted and the millions that will be aborted might have or will discover or create for the betterment of our society if only they were allowed to exist.
I believe that the right of self preservation of our society trumps the so-called right to privacy that is found nowhere in the Constitution of the United States of America.

Well said. Abortion is not taken seriously enough in our society. People just see it as "giving the child back to god." Ridiculous.
